Solo Exhibition • The Higher Bridges Gallery, Enniskillen, Northern Ireland

Joe Forkan Einvite remix2

The Darkened Room opens today at the Higher Bridges Gallery in Enniskillen, Northern Ireland. The show is comprised of a series of figurative monotype triptychs and a video piece that combines dozens of monotypes, drawings and paintings into thousands of shifting images in a looping meditation on the complexities of memory. Below are a few examples, plus some details.

I’ve had a few requests to put all of the original 14 paintings from The Lebowski Cycle into one post. So, here they are. (Update: A 15th Painting is also included now). The source paintings and more info about the Cycle can be found deeper in this blog. It looks like there will be a couple of exhibits of the original paintings coming up in the next year, one in California, and one in New York. Check back for more info. Also, I’ll be printing some limited edition giclee prints in the near future. Send me an email if you want to be notified when they are available.

The Lebowski Cycle at MOCA Jacksonville • Feb. 3 — April 1, 2012

I was recently invited to do a painting workshop and a series of lectures at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville as part of the Barbara Ritzman Devereux Artist Workshops, in coordination with The Lebowski Cycle exhibition at The Museum of Contemporary Art in Jacksonville, (where I also gave a lecture on the Lebowski Cycle). I also spoke at Florida State University in Tallahassee.

These photos are of the exhibit at MOCA Jacksonville, which is up through this Sunday.
